Basketball Recap: Shade Takes a Loss

Shade was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a 57-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Turkeyfoot Valley Area Rams. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 55-25 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Turkeyfoot Valley Area got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Maleigha Younkin out in front who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 14 boards. Kiley Mitchell was another key player, putting up 14 points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals.

Shade's loss dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Turkeyfoot Valley Area, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-6.

Shade will head out on the road to square off against Rockwood at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Turkeyfoot Valley Area, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Lighthouse Christian Academy at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
