Basketball Game Preview: Northwest Cabarrus Trojans vs. Lake Norman Charter Knights

The Northwest Cabarrus Trojans are taking a road trip to challenge the Lake Norman Charter Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Northwest Cabarrus has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

On Tuesday, Northwest Cabarrus humbled South Rowan with a 78-30 victory. That looming 78-30 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Trojans yet this season.

Meanwhile, Lake Norman Charter hadn't done well against Concord recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Lake Norman Charter came out on top against Concord by a score of 59-50.

Northwest Cabarrus' win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-6. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.8 points per game. As for Lake Norman Charter, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-9 record this season.

Northwest Cabarrus was able to grind out a solid victory over Lake Norman Charter in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, winning 75-62. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Lake Norman Charter's Collin McConneyhead, who went 7 of 15 on his way to 23 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
