Basketball Recap: Torrance Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Torrance, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Wiseburn- Da Vinci Wolves 40-38. Given the Tartars' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 221st, while the Wolves are ranked 793rd), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

When it comes to explaining why Wiseburn- Da Vinci lost, don't look at Kayla Muhammad-Flissinger. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards. Those ten rebounds gave Muhammad-Flissinger a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ashley Sutton, who posted seven points and seven boards.

Torrance has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-11 record this season. As for Wiseburn- Da Vinci, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-21.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Torrance has already played their next matchup (against Palos Verdes), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Wiseburn- Da Vinci has also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Peninsula.
