It's playoff time, and Academy for Classical Education had no trouble coming through when it counted. They had just enough and edged out the Berrien Rebels 10-9 on Wednesday. The victory was nothing new for the Gryphons as they're now sitting on five straight.

Reese Thames was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. She also snagged a stolen base, marking her first of the season. Avery Stone was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four stolen bases and four runs.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Academy for Classical Education lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now launched at least two home runs in three consecutive games.

Academy for Classical Education's win bumped their record up to 22-9. As for Berrien, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-21 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Berrien beat Academy for Classical Education by a score of 12-11 later that day.
