Softball Game Preview: Pierce Bluejays vs. Tekamah-Herman Tigers

The Pierce Bluejays will face off against the Tekamah-Herman Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for Pierce: they have been struggling with five straight losses at home, while Tekamah-Herman has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.

Pierce headed into their last matchup having not scored more than two runs for three straight, but Ponca let them put that streak behind them. The Bluejays never let the Indians get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory on Saturday. Considering the Bluejays' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

The team relied heavily on Kaelyn Halsey, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in August of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Evelyn Skrdla, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Tekamah-Herman and Highway 91, and Tekamah-Herman kept the tradition alive. The Tigers were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over Highway 91 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Tigers have posted against Highway 91 since September 26, 2020.

Tekamah-Herman's victory bumped their record up to 9-13. As for Pierce, their win bumped their record up to 9-18.
