Baseball Game Preview: Forest Park Panthers vs. Salem Seminoles

Forest Park has gone a perfect 4-0 against Salem recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Panthers will square off against the Seminoles at 5:55 p.m. Forest Park is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

Forest Park fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against M.L. King on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 8-4 to the Lions.

Nate Edmunds was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 2-for-4. He has become a key player for Forest Park: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 8-9 otherwise.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 13 runs the game before, Salem was a bit more limited in their matchup on Wednesday. They fell just short of Glenvar by a score of 2-1.

Forest Park has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-10 record this season. As for Salem, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11.

Forest Park took their victory against Salem in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 17-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
