Basketball Recap: Make It Seven in a Row for Geibel Catholic

Geibel Catholic had won six straight games and Emma Larkin did her part to make it seven on Saturday. The Geibel Catholic Gators took down the West Greene Pioneers 52-35 thanks in part to Larkin, who went 11 of 21 on her way to 33 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Her afternoon made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Mallory Clemmer was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and 12 boards. She has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 12 times she's played.

West Greene's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kendra Tharp, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Madelyn Roberts, who posted 14 points and five rebounds.

Geibel Catholic pushed their record up to 14-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. As for West Greene, their loss dropped their record down to 9-4.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Clairton the next time they take the court. Geibel Catholic will host Clairton at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, while West Greene will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
