Baseball Recap: Perry Comes Up Short

Perry suffered their closest defeat since April 30th on Friday. They fell just short of the Durand Railroaders by a score of 6-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Railroaders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-5 on Friday.

Wyatt Patrick was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles. Nolan Krupp was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs.

This is the second loss in a row for Perry and nudges their season record down to 15-13-1. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for Durand, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-11 record this season.

Perry has already played their next contest, a 6-2 win against Webberville on the 19th. As for Durand, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 7-2 victory against Lakeville on the 19th.
