Basketball Recap: Hemet Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Victory

Hemet had won four straight games and Hailey Wolbeck did her part to make it five on Thursday. The Hemet Bulldogs strolled past the JW North Huskies with points to spare, taking the game 35-21 thanks in part to Wolbeck, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 13 boards. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played.

Jada Elvir was another key player, putting up two points and three steals. Those three steals gave her a new career-high.

Despite the loss, JW North had strong showings from Avery Aguilar, who posted five points along with six rebounds and four steals, and Aliyah Washington, who had four points and ten boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Maya Marmolejo, who earned seven points.

Hemet has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.4 points per game. As for JW North, their defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-16.

Hemet wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 52-23 win against Rancho Verde on the 28th. JW North has also already played their next game, a 43-40 victory against Orange Vista on the 28th.
