Basketball Game Preview: Fulton Jaguars vs. Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences Vipers

Fulton is 1-9 against Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Fulton Jaguars will face off against the Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences Vipers at 4:00 p.m.

Fulton is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game back in December of 2024. They were one points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 22-21 heartbreaker at the hands of Vaughn.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences). They came out on top against Lake Balboa College Prep by a score of 35-25 on Monday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Vipers as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Fulton better keep an eye on Lara Ledesma. She was instrumental in Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences' win, putting up 29 points. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Ledesma has scored at least a third of Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences' points.

Fulton's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences, they picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 2-7.

Fulton might still be hurting after the 44-20 defeat they got from Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Fulton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
