Football Recap: Make It Eight in a Row for Giles County

It's playoff time, and Giles County had no trouble coming through when it counted. They blew past the McMinn Central Chargers, posting a 41-6 victory. Considering the Bobcats have won four games by more than 25 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

A big part of Giles County's win came down to the chemistry between Xavier Randolph and his top target Pierson Collier. Randolph threw for 226 yards and one touchdown on only 19 passes while Collier rushed for 117 yards while picking up 7.3 yards per carry. A healthy portion of Randolph's aerial production (91 yards to be exact) went to Drew McClemore.

The victory was the eighth in a row for Giles County, bringing their record up to 9-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.3 points over those games. As for McMinn Central, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 8-4 record.

Coming up, Giles County is taking a road trip to face off against Tyner Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bobcats will need to watch out since the Rams have now posted at least 31 points in their last nine contests. McMinn Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
