Baseball Game Preview: Richmond Oilers vs. Hercules Titans

For the second straight game, Richmond will face off against Hercules. The Oilers are taking a road trip to square off against the Titans at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Richmond has now lost 11 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since February 26.

Richmond lost 13-2 to Hercules on Wednesday.

For Hercules' part, they got a massive performance out of William Hobbs, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. The Titans are 3-0-1 when Hobbs posts two or more runs, but 3-8-1 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Nathaniel Melgoza, who scored two runs and stole four bases while going 1-for-1.

Hobbs wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Hercules kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matches.

Hercules' win bumped their record up to 6-8-2. As for Richmond, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.
