Soccer Game Preview: Spencer vs. Columbus

Spencer hasn't had much luck against Columbus recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Greenwave will be playing in front of their home fans against the Blue Devils at 8:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

Last Wednesday, Spencer made easy work of Carver and carried off an 8-3 victory. The win continues a trend for Spencer in their matchups with Carver: they've now won nine in a row.

Spencer hit Carver with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Gabino Vicente (3), Yonatan Vicente Sontay (2), Dominick Castro (2), and Adriel Mena Damaso.

Meanwhile, Columbus kept a clean sheet against Kendrick last Thursday. They put the hurt on the Cherokees with a sharp 9-0 victory. Columbus might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by three goals or more this season.

The win made it two in a row for Columbus and bumps their season record up to 10-3. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 12 goals over those two contests. As for Spencer, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.

Spencer suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Columbus in their previous meeting back in March of 2022. Can the Greenwave avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
