Baseball Recap: Buchholz Snaps 25-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Buchholz couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They came up short against the Pace Patriots on Wednesday, falling 11-4. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Bobcats, who until this game were averaging 2.69 runs allowed.

Buchholz saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aidan Kastensmidt, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Buchholz's loss ended a 25-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 30-2. As for Pace, they are on a roll lately: they've won 19 of their last 21 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-4 record this season.

While Buchholz had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
