Recap: Houston Hurricanes vs. Southland Rebels
On Tuesday, The Houston Hurricanes faced the Southland Rebels in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Houston secured a 24-20 W over Southland. That's another feather in the cap for Houston, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Houston's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aden Kulas led the charge by rushing for 114 yards and a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Zach Olson, who rushed for 39 yards and two touchdowns.
When it comes to explaining why Southland lost, one person who can't be blamed is Austin Swenson. Despite the final result, he rushed for 110 yards and a touchdown.
Houston now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Southland, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5.
Houston will head out on the road to face off against Kingsland at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Kingsland has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 471 points over their last nine contests. Southland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
