Recap: Soquel Knights vs. Salinas Cowboys
This season hasn't been kind to the Soquel Knights, who are still winless after their fourth matchup. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 52-29 walloping at the hands of Salinas on Friday. Soquel was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Salinas apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Leading Salinas to victory were Alice Uchida and Andrea Nava. Uchida scored 13 points, while Nava scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Aliyah Chavez, who scored 7 points.
Soquel bumped their record down to 0-4 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.7 points per game. As for Salinas, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Soquel will challenge Carmel at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Carmel is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. Salinas will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Rancho San Juan at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th.
