Softball Recap: Pius X Takes a Loss

Pius X was the 16-3 winner over Gretna East when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Thunderbolts fell 6-1 to the Griffins on Saturday.

Pius X saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elena Mastel, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run.

Pius X's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Gretna East, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, Pius X will challenge Millard South at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. This will be the Thunderbolts' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Gretna East, they will take on Elkhorn North at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
