Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Meyersdale). They took down the Turkeyfoot Valley Area Rams 55-41 on Monday. This was a revenge game for the Red Raiders: when they faced off against the Rams back in January, they had to take a 58-50 defeat.

Turkeyfoot Valley Area's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maleigha Younkin, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 boards. Younkin has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Kiley Mitchell was another key player, putting up six points in addition to eight rebounds and three blocks.

The victory (which was Meyersdale's third in a row) raised their record to 6-11. As for Turkeyfoot Valley Area, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-5.

Meyersdale will host Claysburg-Kimmel at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Meyersdale is facing Claysburg-Kimmel at the right time seeing as Claysburg-Kimmel is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Turkeyfoot Valley Area, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 55-27 defeat against Northern Garrett on the 4th.
