Basketball Game Preview: Chico Panthers vs. Enterprise Hornets

The Chico Panthers are taking a road trip to take on the Enterprise Hornets at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Chico will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Last Tuesday, Chico narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Shasta 47-44.

Josie Carlos continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 5 of 10 on her way to 18 points and six steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Chico's points. Kayleigh Solano was another key player, going 5 for 10 en route to 18 points and seven boards.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Enterprise). They walked away with a 76-65 win over Foothill on Tuesday.

Chico has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.4 points per game. As for Enterprise, their victory bumped their record up to 9-11.

Chico was able to grind out a solid win over Enterprise in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, winning 52-39. Does Chico have another victory up their sleeve, or will Enterprise turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
