Softball Game Preview: Tuttle Tigers vs. Tahlequah Tigers

Tuttle will head out on the road to face off against Tahlequah at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Tuttle's pitching crew has only allowed 1.6 runs per game this season, so Tahlequah's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Tuttle is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Bixby just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 4-3.

Kynlee Swain made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.

Meanwhile, Tahlequah faced Moore in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Tigers won by a run and slipped past the Lions 6-5.

The team relied heavily on Lilly Garcia, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Kallie Stopp also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Tahlequah hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in 30 consecutive contests.

Tahlequah has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 20 of their last 22 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-3-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Tuttle, their loss dropped their record down to 26-5.

Tuttle came out on top in a nail-biter against Tahlequah when the teams last played back in September of 2024, sneaking past 4-2. Will Tuttle repeat their success, or does Tahlequah has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
