Basketball Recap: Valley View Piles Up the Points Against Nuview Bridge

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Valley View). They really took it to the Nuview Bridge Knights for the full four quarters, racking up a 54-21 victory. The Eagles not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since January 30th (when they won 64-29).

Leading Valley View to victory were Gianna Mendiola and Meletonga Manu. Mendiola went 7-for-12 en route to 14 points and five steals, while Manu dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten boards. Thanks to that strong game, Manu now owns an excellent 47.9% shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was Ranessa Ugarte, who posted nine points and five rebounds.

Valley View smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Valley View's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-6. As for Nuview Bridge, their loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Valley View will look to takes advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they takes on Grand Terrace at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Nuview Bridge, they will host San Jacinto Valley Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
