Basketball Recap: New Garden Friends Skates Past Cresset Christian Academy with Ease

New Garden Friends waltzed into their game on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They blew past the Cresset Christian Academy Eagles, posting a 60-31 victory. With that win, the Bears brought their scoring average up to 50.1 points per game.

Leading New Garden Friends to victory were Kingston Clifton and Curtis Russell. Clifton posted 23 points and four steals, while Russell had 12 points in addition to six boards and three steals. With that strong performance, Clifton is now averaging an impressive 15 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrian Wilkerson, who scored five points and three steals.

Cresset Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Cole Davis, who earned eight points. Another player making a difference was David Eckel, who put up six points.

New Garden Friends' victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-10. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.7 points per game. As for Cresset Christian Academy, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-7.

New Garden Friends didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 60-56 loss against Lee Christian on the 30th. As for Cresset Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Carolina Friends at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
