Softball Recap: Paulding County Takes a Loss

Paulding County fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Harrison on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Hoyas by a score of 8-7. The Patriots' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Paulding County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grace Dempsey, who went 4-for-5 with one stolen base and two RBI. Dempsey is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another was Mae Stewart, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Paulding County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Harrison, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Looking ahead, Paulding County will welcome Chapel Hill at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Harrison, they will head out on the road to face off against South Cobb at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
