Preview: Franklin County Seahawks vs. Bozeman Bucks
Franklin County is 8-2 against Bozeman since December of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Franklin County Seahawks will head out on the road to square off against the Bozeman Bucks at 7:00 p.m. Franklin County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 407th, while Bozeman is ranked 194th).
Franklin County pushed their score all the way to 65 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 69-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of Chipley. Franklin County's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Franklin County's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Sadiq Jones, who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds and three steals, and Ethan Kembro who scored 25 points along with five rebounds and two blocks. That was a full 38.5% of Franklin County's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Lonnie O'Neal, who scored seven points along with five rebounds.
In what's become a running theme this season, Bozeman gave their fans yet another huge win on Monday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Freeport 68-34 on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Bozeman has posted yet this season.
Franklin County's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Bozeman, they pushed their record up to 15-2 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Franklin County skirted past Bozeman 50-48 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Franklin County since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
