Preview: San Juan Hills Stallions vs. Trabuco Hills Mustangs
The San Juan Hills Stallions's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Trabuco Hills Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on January 18th. Hopefully San Juan Hills is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Trabuco Hills in California (San Juan Hills is ranked 119th, while Trabuco Hills is ranked 533rd).
San Juan Hills struggled with threes on Monday (St. Anthony had six more) and sadly the final score reflected it. San Juan Hills received a tough blow as they fell 64-49 to St. Anthony.
Despite their defeat, San Juan Hills saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Sydney Peterson, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, was perhaps the best of all. Peterson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. Another player making a difference was Anna Shreeve, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Trabuco Hills unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. The contest between Trabuco Hills and San Clemente wasn't particularly close, with Trabuco Hills falling 67-50.
San Juan Hills' record is now 12-9. As for Trabuco Hills, they now have a losing record at 9-10.
Everything came up roses for San Juan Hills against Trabuco Hills in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 78-27 win. With San Juan Hills ahead 41-11 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
