Thomas Jefferson Academy extended their losing streak to five on Monday, dropping their season record down to 10-14 in the process. They came up short against the Westminster Christian Academy Lions, falling 10-4. That's two games in a row now that the Jaguars have lost by exactly six runs.

Gavin Bailey was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over 6.1 innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Thomas Jefferson Academy is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-13 otherwise. Bailey was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.
In other batting news, Grant Gillooly was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
As for Westminster Christian Academy, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-12. Considering they have won eight matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
On Westminster Christian Academy's side, Dailey Orr spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits.
On the hitting side, Westminster Christian Academy let William Greene and George Chisholm run wild. Greene went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI, while Chisholm went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI Greene has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Walker Allen, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
Looking ahead, Thomas Jefferson Academy will challenge Brentwood at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The War Eagles will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Jaguars surely won't give up without a fight. As for Westminster Christian Academy, they will take on John Hancock Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
