Softball Recap: North Rock Creek Drops Highest Score of Season Against Norman

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Rock Creek). They were the clear victors by a 16-3 margin over the Norman Tigers on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won 12 games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Sophie Morris was a standout: she got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Morris is also crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Laynee Joyner, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

North Rock Creek's win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-6. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.1 runs over those games. As for Norman, their loss dropped their record down to 4-13.

Coming up, North Rock Creek will host Bethel at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Norman, they will venture away from home to square off against Carl Albert at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
