Baseball Recap: Mays Takes a Loss

Mays was the 8-4 winner over Forest Park when they last played one another last Wednesday, but their luck changed this time around. Mays took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of Forest Park on Friday.

Jarquez Jordan was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave him a new career-low. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-1. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two).

In other batting news, Amarion Robinson was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February. Emmanuel Culpatrick also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Mays has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. Forest Park moved to 8-6 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mays will take on Jackson at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Forest Park, they will head out to square off against Pace Academy at 5:55 p.m. on Monday. Forest Park will need to watch out since Pace Academy has now posted at least ten runs in their last six games.
