Preview: St. Bonaventure Seraphs vs. Bishop Diego Cardinals
The St. Bonaventure Seraphs will be playing at home against the Bishop Diego Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. St. Bonaventure will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
St. Bonaventure can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent contest on Tuesday. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 55-23 victory over Santa Clara. Given St. Bonaventure's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 334th, while Santa Clara is ranked 1097th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
St. Bonaventure found their leader in underclassman Sarah Cosio, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten steals. Cosio has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Fernandez, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Bishop Diego beat Cate 50-39 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Bishop Diego.
St. Bonaventure's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-7. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 32.67 points. As for Bishop Diego, their win bumped their record up to 19-4.
Everything went St. Bonaventure's way against Bishop Diego in their previous meeting on January 9th as St. Bonaventure made off with a 60-34 victory. Will St. Bonaventure repeat their success, or does Bishop Diego have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
