Preview: Collegium Charter Cougar vs. Jenkintown Drakes
The Collegium Charter Cougar will be playing in front of their home fans against the Jenkintown Drakes at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jenkintown took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Collegium Charter, who comes in off a win.
Last Thursday, Collegium Charter earned a 37-28 win over Delaware County Christian. That nine points margin sets a new team best for Collegium Charter this season.
Collegium Charter found their leader in underclassman Nasira Towles, who scored 19 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Towles has scored all season. Ciani Hamilton was another key contributor, scoring three points along with 12 rebounds and two steals.
Jenkintown suffered their biggest defeat since December 5, 2023 on Saturday. They were the victim of a tough 42-21 loss at the hands of Germantown Friends. While losing is never fun, Jenkintown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 474th, while Germantown Friends is ranked 168th).
Collegium Charter's victory bumped their record up to 3-11. As for Jenkintown, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 5-7.
Collegium Charter barely slipped by Jenkintown in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, winning 30-29. Does Collegium Charter have another victory up their sleeve, or will Jenkintown turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
