Softball Preview: Millard West Wildcats vs. Bellevue East Chieftains

Millard West is 9-1 against Bellevue East since September of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Wildcats will square off against the Chieftains at 9:00 a.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Millard West had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Fossil Ridge on Thursday. The Wildcats' pitcher stepped up to hand the SaberCats a 10-0 shutout. The Wildcats not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since August 22nd (when they won 11-0).

Addison Burdorf was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over four innings pitched. Burdorf was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.

Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
