Basketball Game Preview: Sheldon Huskies vs. Franklin Wildcats

Sheldon hasn't had much luck against Franklin recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Sheldon Huskies will head out to square off against the Franklin Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. Sheldon is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.5 points per game this season.

Last Wednesday, Sheldon was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 53-52 to Pleasant Grove. While the Huskies didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 16-8 in the first quarter.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Saniah Wiley, who went 8 for 13 on her way to 20 points and three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last three games she's played. Zoe McAfee was another key player, putting up ten points and five assists.

Meanwhile, Franklin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were outmatched by Pleasant Grove and fell 63-35. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-12.

Sheldon's loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Franklin, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-12.

Sheldon was dealt a bruising 61-29 loss at the hands of Franklin when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Sheldon avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
