Baseball Recap: Polson Beats Libby for Their Second Straight Victory

Seven must be Polson's lucky number: they beat Libby with that score not once but twice on Thursday. The Pirates didn't even let the Loggers on the board, marking the Pirates' second-straight 7-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Pirates, who have now won eight matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Holden Emerson was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Polson's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-6 when he doesn't). Parker Shoemake also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

The victory made it two in a row for Polson and bumps their season record up to 10-6. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 runs in those games. As for Libby, they dropped their record down to 5-10 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home.
