Highlands Ranch extended their losing streak to 13 on Wednesday, dropping them down to 1-17. They came up short against the Heritage Eagles, falling 16-7. While the Falcons didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 4-0 in the first period.
Cricket Keppel made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Sophie Gregarek, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and two RBI.
As for Heritage, they moved to 5-13 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak. Considering their hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
On Heritage's side, Macie Wilson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. Wilson has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Caitlin Chamaty was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in August. Lyberty Bernal was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
