Football Recap: Somerset Skates Past Jefferson with Ease + How To Watch

Somerset won the last time they faced Jefferson and things went their way on Thursday too. The Bulldogs blew past the Mustangs 42-14. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Bulldogs considering their ten-point performance the game before.

A big part of Somerset's victory came down to the chemistry between Kaleb Flores and his top target Malakai Iverson. Flores threw for 191 yards and three TDs while completing 71.4% of his passes while Iverson picked up 119 receiving yards and a pair of scores. What's more, Flores racked up 153.3 passer rating, the most he's had since back in September of 2024. Another big playmaker for Somerset was Gavin Martinez, who returned a punt for a touchdown.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for Somerset, racking up 12 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Martinez, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Somerset now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Jefferson, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Somerset will challenge Jourdanton at 7:00 p.m. on the 19th. As for Jefferson, they will square off against Harlandale at 7:00 p.m. on the 19th.
