Basketball Recap: Lincoln Leadership Academy Lions vs. Lehigh Valley Academy Jaguars
In what's become a running theme this season, the Lincoln Leadership Academy Lions gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They breezed by Lehigh Valley Academy at home to the tune of 62-23. The victory was familiar territory for Lincoln Leadership Academy who now have four in a row.
Lincoln Leadership Academy had a senior duo take command as Alania Ortiz scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and six steals and Yadira Marshall almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine steals. Marshall is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games she's played. Laiya Dejesus was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.
Lincoln Leadership Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Lehigh Valley Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
Lincoln Leadership Academy will head out on the road to square off against the Pioneers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for Dock Mennonite: they have been struggling with five straight losses at home, while the Lions have snatched up four consecutive wins on the road. Lehigh Valley Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
