Recap: Pocono Mountain West Panthers vs. Liberty Hurricanes
The Pocono Mountain West Panthers lost against the Liberty Hurricanes back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Pocono Mountain West received a tough blow as they fell 50-36 to Liberty. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Pocono Mountain West in their matchups with Liberty: they've now lost five in a row.
Liberty's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Iysis Nickens, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds and two steals. It was the first time this season that Nickens pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Pukszyn, who scored six points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Pocono Mountain West's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Liberty, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-10.
Pocono Mountain West does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Liberty's road trip will continue as they head out to face Emmaus at 8:00 p.m. on February 13th. Hopefully Liberty focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday.
