Softball Recap: Long County's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Long County). They never let the Calvary Day Cavaliers get on the board and left with a 17-0 win on Tuesday. The Blue Tide might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by six runs or more this season.

The victory (which was Long County's fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Calvary Day, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Long County will host Ware County at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Gators have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.44 runs per game on average), something the Blue Tide will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Calvary Day, they will take on Jenkins at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 18.14 runs per game on average), something the Cavaliers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
