Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Trinity Christian

Trinity Christian entered their tilt with Troup County on Monday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 4-1 win over the Tigers. This was a revenge game for the Lions: when they faced off against the Tigers two weeks ago, they had to take a 11-5 defeat.

Mary Ruth Adkins spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Trinity Christian saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elizabeth McCarthy, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

The victory got Trinity Christian back to even at 10-10. As for Troup County, the loss snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 12-15 record.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Trinity Christian will take on rival Whitewater at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Troup County is set to challenge their familiar foe Upson-Lee at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
