Basketball Recap: Paradise Takes a Loss

Paradise played a tough matchup on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Lindhurst Blazers, falling 48-25. The Bobcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blazers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Danaya Stephens had a dynamite game for Lindhurst, going 7 for 15 on her way to 19 points in addition to seven steals and five boards. Stephens is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashlynn Wheeler, who posted eight points and eight steals.

Paradise's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Lindhurst, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.

Paradise won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Hayfork at 11:30 a.m. on Friday. As for Lindhurst, they and Westlake Charter will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Lindhurst has won three straight at home, while Westlake Charter won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
