Soccer Game Preview: Pebblebrook vs. Osborne

Pebblebrook is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Tuesday. They are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will square off against the Osborne Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Pebblebrook had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the three-goal drubbing they dealt Chapel Hill on Tuesday. Pebblebrook was the clear victors by a 4-1 margin over Chapel Hill. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 35th, while the Panthers are ranked 122nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Pebblebrook hit Chapel Hill with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Brian Grande (2), Christopher Banfield, and Angel Cruz.

Meanwhile, Osborne got the win against Kennesaw Mountain on Tuesday by a conclusive 5-1. Considering the Cardinals' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

The win (which was Pebblebrook's third in a row) raised their record to 4-1. As for Osborne, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Pebblebrook couldn't quite get it done against Osborne in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 as they fell 4-2. Can Pebblebrook avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
