Basketball Recap: Valley Center Skates Past Ramona with Ease

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against San Marcos, Valley Center was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They blew past the Ramona Bulldogs 60-13. The match marked the Jaguars' most dominant win of the season.

Nashayla Chaipos continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 8 of 20 on her way to 20 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn English, who posted eight points in addition to nine boards and five steals.

Despite the loss, Ramona saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ava Winkler scored six points and 13 rebounds. Winkler has been hot recently, having posted 13 or more boards the last three times she's played.

Valley Center's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-8. As for Ramona, their defeat was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-12.

Valley Center didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 35-31 win against Tri-City Christian on the 20th. As for Ramona, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 85-6 loss against San Marcos on the 21st.
