Basketball Recap: Port of Los Angeles Comes Up Short

Port of Los Angeles lost against Hawkins back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Port of Los Angeles Polar Bears took a blow against the Hawkins Hawks, falling 58-12.

Coretta Williams was a one-woman wrecking crew for Hawkins as she posted 26 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sainiah Jackson, who earned 14 points.

Port of Los Angeles' loss was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Hawkins, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

Port of Los Angeles didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 74-15 defeat against Harbor Teacher on the 27th. Hawkins has also already played their next contest (against Dymally), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
