Baseball Game Preview: East Hall Vikings vs. Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes

East Hall is on a four-game streak of home losses, and Monroe Area a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. The East Hall Vikings will look to defend their home field against the Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes at 6:00 p.m. East Hall has given up an average of 8.6 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Friday just wasn't the day for East Hall's offense. They came up short against Cherokee Bluff on Friday, falling 16-0.

Meanwhile, Monroe Area wound up with the same score they had in their last game (5-3), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time.

Parker Ashley was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over 6.1 innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in earned runs (zero).

At the plate, Hamilton Shinn made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Wyatt Nolte also deserves some recognition as he got his first hits of the season.

Monroe Area's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for East Hall, their loss dropped their record down to 6-12.

East Hall was able to grind out a solid victory over Monroe Area in their previous matchup back in March of 2022, winning 9-6. Does East Hall have another victory up their sleeve, or will Monroe Area turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
