Softball Recap: Central Tigers vs. Naylor Eagles
Central had lost three straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped down to 2-9 to make it four. They lost 17-8 to the Naylor Eagles. Tigers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Eagles since Thursday.
As for Naylor, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-4 record. With that win, they brought their scoring average up to 6.8 runs per game.
For Naylor's part, Faithlynn ?Gracie? Tillman was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and five unearned) runs off five hits. Tillman was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, five runs, and three RBI. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.3 runs per game.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gracie Cullsion, who fired off two home runs, four runs, and four RBI while going 2-for-4. Tatum Futrell was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.
