Softball Recap: Ponderosa Victorious

Ponderosa proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 11) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the Legend Titans. This was payback for the Mustangs, who suffered an 8-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Ponderosa's victory was truly a team effort as eight different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Campbell Trombley, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Those two stolen bases gave Trombley a new career-high. Berkley Jenkins also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Ponderosa is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-12 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Legend, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-5.

Ponderosa didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 17-0 victory against Highlands Ranch on the 3rd. As for Legend, they have also already played their next matchup, a 15-13 win against Regis Jesuit on the 3rd.
