Recap: Masterman vs. Science Leadership Academy
Masterman have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 23 points or more this season. They were the clear victor by a 48-25 margin over Science Leadership Academy. Given Masterman's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while Science Leadership Academy is ranked 198th), the result on Wednesday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Masterman's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jocelyn Goldstein, who scored 25 points along with four steals and three blocks. The matchup was Goldstein's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Sophia Brunelli was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six steals and six blocks.
The win for Masterman keeps them at an undefeated 4-0. As for Science Leadership Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
Masterman will be home for the holidays to greet Northeast at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Science Leadership Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Kensington at 3:15 p.m. on Monday.
