Softball Recap: Jackson County's Undefeated Season over After Four Games

If Jackson County was riding high fresh off their 13-6 takedown of Commerce on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers fell just short of the Dacula Falcons by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Panthers have struggled against the Falcons recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Adalyn Mitchell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits.

On the hitting side, Emery Schiffmann made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run. Miabella Lee also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Jackson County fell to 3-1. As for Dacula, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Coming up, Jackson County is taking a road trip to take on Archer at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Dacula, they will challenge Grayson at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Rams' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Falcons' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
