Preview: Animo Venice Pirates vs. WISH Academy Owls
The Animo Venice Pirates will head out on the road to take on the WISH Academy Owls at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Animo Venice comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
Animo Venice suffered their biggest defeat since November 9, 2023 on Thursday. They were dealt a 48-4 loss at the hands of Animo Watts. Animo Venice was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-0.
Meanwhile, WISH Academy entered their tilt with Simon Tech with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. WISH Academy simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat Simon Tech 77-5 at home. WISH Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 25 points or more this season.
Animo Venice's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for WISH Academy, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
Animo Venice was dealt a bruising 56-0 loss at the hands of WISH Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Animo Venice avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
