Basketball Recap: Morse Tigers vs. Scripps Ranch Falcons
It was a good run, but the Morse Tigers unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 61-46 bruising from Scripps Ranch. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Morse in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now lost three in a row.
Defeat or not, Morse got some senior leadership from Kyla Palpallatoc and Jayla White. Palpallatoc scored 17 points along with five assists, while White. scored 15 points along with two steals. White hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Belinda Diaz, who scored five points.
Scripps Ranch got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Michelle Kramer out in front who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds. Kramer has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last five times she's played. Ree Ree Davis was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Morse's defeat dropped their record down to 18-6. As for Scripps Ranch, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season.
Morse will face off against the Sundevils at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Mt. Carmel is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. As for Scripps Ranch, they will head out on the road to square off against the Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 726th, while the Falcons are ranked 197th).
